During the year 2022, and to accommodate the current global travel restrictions, CECAM-FI will foster local activities within the Finnish computational materials ecosystem. We will provide financial support for physical joint group retreats between different Finnish groups (2-3 groups, around 15-20 people).

The following aspects will be highly valued but not mandatory:
– Groups from different organizations
– Interdisciplinary between the groups
– Synergy between their research activities
– Online participation of research groups and participants from outside of Finland
CECAM-FI will also support the organization of hybrid workshops following the previous guidelines.

Application requirements

  • At least one group from a CECAM-FI consortium partner
  • One page summary of the planned group retreat with the following info:
    – List of participating groups, main organizers and institutions
    – Estimated number of physical participants
    – Topical areas of the main organizers & groups
    – Summary of the intent of the group retreat (max 100 words)
    – Duration of the retreat, location and requested budget

Decisions for applications will be taken within 7 days after each deadline. The group retreats can be scheduled as soon as 14 days after the application deadline.
